SERVICES
Individual CBT
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.
Individual therapy can help you explore the unhelpful beliefs that keep the problem going, and then help you find a more helpful way of thinking about the situation, put things in perspective, or see yourself in a more positive light.
Individual EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a method that involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. The goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Unlike CBT, EMDR doesn't require you to talk about the traumatic event as much, as memories are processed in a more organic manner.
EMDR can be useful for people who have witnessed or experienced an event like a car accident, a violent crime, sexual or emotional abuse, bullying, a social humiliation or the sudden loss of a loved one, and are struggling to recover. EMDR is suitable for adults as well as young people.
Groups
In a group setting, the therapist will guide the group through learning about a specific problem and provide you with techniques to manage it.
You won't be expected to share anything you don't feel comfortable sharing.
You might think that groups are a more "standardized" option than individual therapy, however groups can help normalize your difficulties, make you feel less alone, and provide you with a network of support of people struggling with similar difficulties.
Please note: Groups are online only.
Fees:
£60 per face-to-face session (currently unavailable)
£50 per online session
£30 per 1 group session or £150 per 6 group sessions
(groups are online only at the moment)

What my clients say...
"Hey Manuela,
I know we’re going to speak one last time, but wanted to say thanks again for absolutely everything.
As I said, I came into the process expecting for it to be quite textbook and one-size-fits-all. However, you’ve treated me in such a wonderfully personal, sensitive and compassionate way that I’ve come towards the end feeling immensely grateful.
Your explanations of the clinical mechanics of anxiety, panic disorder and panic attacks has been a great help. Your diagrams were always clear and easy to understand, however you never made any of that feel too clinical and only applied deep knowledge when it was helpful; something I am also hugely grateful for.
Every week has been incredibly insightful and your ability to listen with patience, recall moments from my long (boring) anecdotes in previous sessions and counter with highly considered observations has been invaluable to the process.
I feel like I’ve made huge steps and whilst the journey (no pun intended) is not over I have a renewed sense of confidence in my ability to deal with it and hope that your tuneful accent chimes in the back of my mind whenever it’s needed".
Manuela was nothing short of exceptional in listening to my concerns and focussing on them, whilst also helping me to dissect and understand them.
In doing so, she gave me the tools to recognise where said concerns, fears and worries might come from, helped me identify possible alternative ways of thinking and behaving, hence alleviating the anxiety I (didn't even know I) had suffered from most of my life, and my confidence has greatly improved since.
Manuela was extremely professional, yet always had a very gracious and understanding approach and I can confidently say I was very much looking forward to all of our sessions, knowing the teachings I would have got out of each of them would give me much relief and help me deal with life in a more balanced way.
"Hi Manuela,
Thank you for everything today, I look forward to our session. I hate that it is our last one, I wish it didn't have to be; there are many emotions, so it is taking me a while to write this email, but your positive words ring in my head and you are awesome and have changed my life, twice now. Thank you".
"Dear Manuela,
I hope you're well and staying safe?
I thought I'd just give you an update after our sessions last year. Naturally I have been on quite a psychological roller-coaster but the skills you taught me have really helped me stay on top of this and enable me to cope much, much better with any difficult periods - I am well equipped to overcome these now!
Perhaps more noteworthy, I decided that a move away from London was essential for a change in lifestyle and the essential interviews were the areas I was most concerned about when we were having sessions. I have had 3 interviews for good roles and have been successful on my 3rd interview! On all occasions I had to present to a panel and stakeholders, be involved in group discussions and talk in depth about my knowledge and experience. My feedback on all the interviews was that my presentations stood out from all the other candidates and that I narrowly missed out of the previous two roles. None of this would have been possible without your help so I just wanted to say thank you. You have really enabled me to flourish and take my career to the next step and get my life back on track, I will be forever grateful for your help.
Thank you".
“I found the sessions extremely helpful and will continue to use the techniques in my daily routine. I particularly found the information on coping and managing my stress/anxiety helpful”.

“I found it helpful to know that there are others out there experiencing the same problems and that I am not alone. Many thanks for the supportive and respectful manner in which you delivered the sessions”.
“I have learned loads about PTSD. Knowing how PTSD works, and knowing that I am not the only one experiencing it, was liberating. I have learned so much, not only from the therapist's expertise, but also from the other participants and their compassion”.
"Dear Manuela,
Thank you so much for the support you offered me during therapy. For me it has really helped that you have been so personable and approachable. I have really felt supported and at ease with you.
For me, it really helped how we summarized the conclusions we drew in easy to remember phrases- "Just do it!" "Experiment"; "things are not as bad as I make them to be in my head". These things just pop to mind now.
Also, it is so great that you encouraged me to write down things! Going back to my notes really helps and it brings back a lot from our discussions.
I also liked that you always ensured we allocated time for the things I needed to discuss. I never felt rushed and I really appreciated you spent some more time over the allocated 1 hr when needed without ever making me feel bad, pressured etc.
Thank you for always helping me see things from another perspective!
I feel much better now and I am grateful to you for that.
I also wish you all the best in your career, you are great at what you do and I am glad you are out there to help more people like me :)"
