Individual CBT

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.

Individual therapy can help you explore the unhelpful beliefs that keep the problem going, and then help you find a more helpful way of thinking about the situation, put things in perspective, or see yourself in a more positive light.

Individual EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a method that involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. The goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

Unlike CBT, EMDR doesn't require you to talk about the traumatic event as much, as memories are processed in a more organic manner.

EMDR can be useful for people who have witnessed or experienced an event like a car accident, a violent crime, sexual or emotional abuse, bullying, a social humiliation or the sudden loss of a loved one, and are struggling to recover. EMDR is suitable for adults as well as  young people.

Groups

In a group setting, the therapist will guide the group through learning about a specific problem and provide you with techniques to manage it. 

You won't be expected to share anything you don't feel comfortable sharing.

You might think that groups are a more "standardized" option than individual therapy, however groups can help normalize your difficulties, make you feel less alone, and provide you with a network of support of people struggling with similar difficulties.

Fees:

£60 per face-to-face session (currently unavailable)

£50 per online session 

£30 per 1 group session or £150 per 6 group sessions

Manuela was nothing short of exceptional in listening to my concerns and focussing on them, whilst also helping me to dissect and understand them.

 

In doing so, she gave me the tools to recognise where said concerns, fears and worries might come from, helped me identify possible alternative ways of thinking and behaving, hence alleviating the anxiety I (didn't even know I) had suffered from most of my life, and my confidence has greatly improved since.
